24 Oras is the current flagship primetime news broadcast of GMA Network in the Philippines. Launched in 2004, it is one of the most watched news programs in the country. It partly revitalized the primetime programming of the network.
Good evening! I am a private school teacher and I was just concerned about the government's textbooks being sold at Recto, knowing that there are shortage of book supplies in other public schools not only in provincial areas but also here in Manila. My friends and I were in Recto to buy a book for our Masteral studies, then we saw a middle-aged lady (looks like a public school teacher which I am not sure of) there selling around 30-40 pcs of new English textbooks (for Elementary) . They covered the sign on the cover "Government Property, Not for Sale" with colored paper. We were just looking at her and the books, and wondering how are these done by these people without the knowledge of our government especially, the Department of Education. It makes me feel sad and disappointed that while these people were earning money, 3 or more students have to share with 1 book or even a teacher share 1 book with her students. I know that GMA could be the eyes and mouth for this issue. Hoping for your immediate action. More power and God bless!

At isa pa po d2 kasi sa saudi dalawang beses pinapalabas ang 24 Oras: 2:30pm at 6:30pm. Sa replay which is 6:30pm kalimitan yong ibang balita di na nila pinapakita samantalang mas maraming manonood sa ganung oras. Salamat po

gusto ko lang pong magvoice out about dun... kasi po, wala din pong magiging silbi sa mga tao ang pagpapababa ng bayad s text kung my unlimited pong promo ang mga network... karamihan po kasi ngayon ng mga tao na mahilig magtext na katulad ko at ng family ko gumagamit po kmi ng pareparehong sim card to lessen our expenses at maitext ang isat isa... dahil po yun s unlimited promo ng mga network... in just a small amount (P20) we can text each other for 24 hours... sana po ang pababain nalang ang pag aavail ng unli para mas makatulong s mga tao... dahil po sa tingin ko hindi makakatulong ng malaki ang pagpapababa ng mga price ng text kung may unli naman... mas magiging maganda po siguro kung ang unli ang papababain... salamat po... more power mr. mike and ms mel..

Subject: Jun Lozada Expose - North Rail Project
I wish the Senate would also investigate what Jun Lozada quoted of ZTE Officials about the North Rail Projects. ZTE officials, as what I understood from Mr. Lozada's statements, want the terms in the Broadband deal to be the same as that of the Northrail Project. It seems that there was also something anomalous on the Northrail Project. If the Senate is doing this inquiry on the ZTE-NBN project in aid of legislation, they must as well investigate on the Northrail Project. Any anomalous information that they will get in investigating this project will definitely aid them in making concrete legislative acts.
I think that Senate inquiries are more of Grandstanding the senators to help them in their political careers. I wish to see a concrete law that will minimize or hopefully eliminate Graft and Corruption in our goverment through these Senate Inquiries. There have been major goverment projects before the Arroyo regime that I think escaped public attention and scrutiny. I also understood from Mr. Lozada's statements is that getting a "kickback" has been a practice in the goverment. And I think it's been practiced for a long time.
I would like to commend PGMA for putting alot of good people in her cabinet. They were so good that anomalous deals in the goverment are leaking out to the public because of their honesty. I think the goverment now is more transparent than before. I think that the Palace should clean their acts. I also think that the Senate should do this as well. They are still part of the Goverment and most of the senators have served in executive departments.

Subject: on chika minute segment
Indeed you tackle the political and socio-economic events without bias....and that's great! I just hope that this should likewise be the case when the showbiz news would be presented. Take for instance the report on Carlene Aguilar - Dennis Trillio - Cristine Reyes controversy. Neither am I a relative nor a fan of Carlene but I must say that when the footage first appeared in your program, and then later on having watched her elaborate on the details, I couldn't help but feel disheartened about the way it was shown on your program. How I wish that the entire scene could have been shown--like from the handshake and what took place before Carlene and Jenny looked back or gazed back. It's amazing how much the talents there are being taken cared of/ nurtured and when at the spotlight, constantly featured often in the chika minute portion (I could remember how every aspect of Angel Locsin's activities were featured closely). Lately though when I watch programs and the actor(s) are in the middle of a controversy, I lose my enthusiasm in watching when only details in favor of the actor are being showcased. Going back to the present showbiz controversy, I just wish that the moral/ethical implications would not be taken lightly because the public come to make certain conclusions of a person unaware of the whole picture/story. In the end, it's not just a matter of garnering the top ratings but sticking with the truth and having the respect of viewers right? A consistent sense of objectivity for every item regardless of "membership". May the news team take this positively and have a sustained effort to uphold the principles which the program proudly established. As Edith Wharton puts it, "There are two ways of spreading light--being the mirror or the candle that reflects it."
P.S. this suggestion applies to a different program but maybe, just maybe the message could be relayed: perhaps the team handling the Sunday program showbiz central would be open to new ideas. maybe lessen the hosts (it's getting too crowded already) but please retain John Lapus.. he possesses good hosting skills!

Just want to know. If the whole Philippines knows that most of the politicians is going to be cheating. Why can't we develop a computer based program that the people will have to use finger prints in order to vote and will be directed into a internet data base that all politician running for a position can monitor. This will eliminate alot of the inaccurate canvassing and will yield immediate results, and save the Philippines a world wide embarassment of having them see these politician cheating and killing each other for a position. Not to mention the law suits that is going to happen cause the people that lose think they got cheated. And the other thing "Pacquiao" for Congressman.. I am sorry. He is a hell of a boxer and he put the Philippines on the records books as far as boxing is concerned but he can not even spell C O N G R E S S M A N. Thank you
