Alien Hunter (2003)

A team of scientists dig an ice-covered mass out of the South Pole which, it has been detected, is emitting radio signals. Berkeley Linguistics professor and former cryptologist Julian Rome is invited to the Antarctic to help the team decipher whatever coded message is being transmitted by the mass, and finds that one of his colleagues is a former Berkeley co-ed with whom he had an affair. As time goes on, however, and the team begins to focus on the code, the atmosphere at the ice station becomes one of fear, causing nightmares and leading to suspicions that whatever the message is holds a frightening secret about the potentiality of alien life forms.
