After getting his start on one of Arthur Godfrey's talent programs, ventriloquist Al Robinson achieved a level of popularity sufficient to warrant a show of his own. Each program featured Al and his dummy, Alkali Ike, as Ike muddled through tutoring sessions in his quest to learn something new and escape boredom.
