GMA once again makes a breakthrough in the history of tri-media. After the attention-grabbing, no-stones-left-unturned campaigns that heralded their three premier dramas kicked off by Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin, followed by Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga and Kung Mawawala Ka, GMA now presents the very first cinenovela on television -- Ang Iibigin Ay Ikaw. Ang Iibigin Ay Ikaw marks a milestone in television by uniting the two powerful mediums -- film and tv -- together under the leadership of young but highly-acclaimed director Joyce Bernal and the multi-awarded scriptwriter Gina Marissa Tagasa. Bernal also breaks the record for being the first female ever to direct a soap opera for the rainbow network after a long line of male directors like Soxie Topacio, Khryss Adalia, Gil Tejada Jr. and Joel Lamangan. Another milestone is set with the two Philippine movie drama kings pitted against each other for the first time on the small screen. The highly-anticipated drama revolves around Lemuel, Mia and Waldo, played by Christopher de Leon, Alice Dixson and Richard Gomez respectively, whose lives are intertwined because of the choices they make due to the ambitions they have set for themselves. Providing stellar support are Lani Mercado, Jackie Lou Blanco, Mark Gil, Barbara Perez, Boots Anson-Roa, Rio Locsin, Bembol Roco, Rosa Rosal, Karen delos Reyes, AJ Eigenmann and Chubi del Rosario among many others. |
