"Barney Miller" focused on life in Greenwich Village's 12th Precinct station house. Initially the series looked at Captain Barney Miller (Hal Linden) and his work and home life, but gradually became almost entirely about the men of the precinct including the always-on-the-verge-of-retirement Fish (Abe Vigoda).
