Tyson is attending the local high school with Kenny; Max has gone to the United States to do research with his parents; Ray has returned to his hometown in China and is now teaching amateur beybladers to beyblade; and Kai has "retired from beyblading", now attending a private school. But this peaceful life won't last for long for these four teens. One day, during a exhibition beyblading tournament, Tyson was invited (as the World Champion) to battle against the strongest beyblader there. But when the last round finally came, the World Champ was shown a troubling defeat by the mysterious cloaked "Mr. X". At first, it seemed Mr. X was just another strong beyblader, but after Max, Ray and even Kai were confronted with cloaked bladers and shown the same defeat, they started to get suspicious. Who are these new beybladers, calling themselves the "Saint Shields", who seem to have beyblades that have their own minds and no bit beasts? Or are they just unseen? A new adventure starts as the Bladebreakers unite to find out who these new beybladers are, as well as why they are here. But it seems the these new beybladers aren't the only strong opponents lined up to challenge the Bladebreakers; a new team of beybladers, the "Psykicks" are out to get them as well. Will Tyson, Max, Ray, Kai, Kenny and their new friend Hilary be able to find out? Or will they lose to the plans of the Saint Shields and Psykicks?
