Bonanza

Set in Nevada, in the 1860s, Bonanza chronicled the adventures of the Cartwright family who owned a large ranch - The Ponderosa.

Bonanza (1959)

Television's first color Western, "Bonanza" ended up becoming one of the most popular and longest running shows of the 1960s. Ben Cartwright (Lorne Greene) was the partriach of a Nevada ranching family during and after the Civil War. Ben lived on the Ponderosa with his three sons, each from a different wife. Adam (Pernell Roberts) hoped to follow in his father's footsteps. Hoss (Dan Blocker) was awfully strong, but not so smart. Little Joe (Michael Landon) was the most impetuous of the children.
