Pilot

Author: ABS-CBN Interactive

Summary:

What better way to start your mornings than to witness Kris & Boy spin their fascinating tête-à-tête? And for its pilot episode, they bring to you the purest kind of love in this world as they delve into star-studded father-son and mother-daughter relationships: Edu Manzano with son Luis, Mommy Carol with Judy Ann Santos and Ara Mina with Mommy Frances Marie Reyes.

Multi-talented host and actor Mr. Edu Manzano and son Luis, who appears to be following his footsteps, talk about their close bond with each other. Though they share the same sense of humor, they have different opinions when it comes to spending time with each other. Luis believes in quality time whereas his dad values quantity more. This starts a good-natured banter between them.

Luis notes however that despite being separated with him since he was 5 years old, they still achieved the closeness they have now, unlike most people. But Edu explains that this did not hinder him from getting involved with his life like forbidding him to join the biz or appear even in commercials until Luis finished his studies. When it comes to women, his advice to him is simple yet deep, “Never na never kang mang-aapi ng babae.”

In turn, Mommy Carol's piece of advice for Juday is to learn to be not too trusting with the people she deals with. Her protectiveness towards her daughter is surpassed by Juday's firm stance that she doesn't want her mom to get married again. She admits that perhaps she is selfish in this sense, but she reiterates that she'll be taking care of her mom even if she has her own family already.

No doubt about it, Mommy Carol's life is truly blessed already to be worried about pursuing romance herself. Indeed, seeing her daughter evolve like a butterfly who has emerged from its cocoon certainly brings her much pride. Kris observes a positive change in her, saying that now she has lots of things to share contrary to her meek attitude before. To this, she merely explains that she's just more confident now that people will accept her for what she is.

Hazel or who's more known in the boob tube as Ara Mina looks after her beauty queen mom Frances Marie Reyes. Upon winning a pageant in 1964, Mommy Frances was fortunate enough to star with the King of Comedy and King of the Philippine Movies in four films! Seeing her on screen, young Hazel then was inspired to be an actress when she grows up.

Having reached her dream coupled with her singing career, what she plans to do in the future is to try hosting talk shows. And it seems that this will be fulfilled soon! In the meantime, she keeps mum about her future project. When asked about a thing from her past that she wants to change, she confides that she wants to obliterate her literally painful experience with a non-showbiz boyfriend whom ironically she is now friends with.

As a conclusion, Boy Abunda leaves the viewers with some thoughts to ponder, “At the end of the day, God will measure how good children we are of the Creator... kung paano natin minahal ang ating mga magulang.”
