Cadfael

A Crusader-turned-Monk uses his botanical knowledge to solve mysteries in the old Norman England village of Shrewsbury.

Cadfael (1995)

Adventures of a 12th-century crime-solving monk, based on the novels by Ellis Peters. In "The Leper of St. Giles," an old baron about to marry a much younger woman for her estates, mysteriously disappears. In "Monk's Hood," a wealthy landowner, who is about to cut his stepson out of his will, is poisoned. In "The Sanctuary Sparrow," Cadfael is assigned to keep an eye on a young juggler who takes sanctuary in the abbey when the townspeople suspect him of robbing and killing the town's goldsmith. When Cadfael is called upon to bury 94 rebel soldiers executed on the King's orders, he discovers 95 bodies and begins a search for a murderer in "One Corpse Too Many."
