Circus clown Charlie falls asleep in his boat whilst fishing and awakens to find himself stranded on the desert island of Merrytwit, where he encounters a bunch of new unusual friends. This stop-motion animated series for the BBC aired only for one season. Charlie Chalk was such a hit with children that the UK family restaurant chain Brewers Fayre used to use Charlie as their mascot, and had a kids play area called 'The Charlie Chalk Fun Factory'. |
