Charlie Lawrence (2003)

Nathan Lane stars as the title character, the openly gay former star of a "Touched by an Angel"-like TV show who gets elected to Congress following the death of a long-time representative. Once there, fish-out-of-water hijinks ensue with his uptight chief of staff (Laurie Metcalf), star-struck office manager (Stephanie Faracy) and an oily fellow congressman (Ted McGinley) who lives in the same apartment building as Charlie.
