James Cromwell ("Babe," "L.A. Confidential") is Elliott Baines, a prominent U.S. senator who returns to his Seattle home and three daughters - - Embeth Davidtz ("Schindler's List"), Jane Adams and Jacinda Barrett ("The Real World") -- following a shocking loss in his bid for re-election. Caught up in their own problems and used to living without their father's presence, the three don't know what to expect from his return - - and neither does Elliott.
