A rescue unit based in the Rockies uses its special skills to save the lives of people trapped in precarious situations. But the clashes between the team's disparate characters often prove as challenging as their high-risk job. Reese Wheeler, a former downhill racer, is the seasoned leader of the Steep Mountain Rescue Unit. With the guidance of Farley Potts, a soft-spoken Vietnam vet and helicopter pilot, Wheeler is both manager of and father-figure to the group. The newest member of the team, Kyle Hansen, is grappling with the tragic death of his fiancee. The team members also include: Lance Monroe, a suave self-promoter who will stop at nothing to get what he wants; Andie McDermott, a potential romantic interest for Kyle who is a lively local girl with a big-city attitude; and Sarah Bowen, a runaway heiress determined to carve out her own identity. Sarah's kid brother Bones and his snowboarding buddy Skeeter often distract her with their pursuit of excitement and adventure. |
