Fallen Angels (1996)

An anthology series for Showtime adapted from a selection of short stories. Episodes are loosely linked in tone, theme and a 1940s setting. Segments have a wraparound involving a femme fatale character, Faye Friendly, created for the series."Dead-End For Delia" is the story of a beautiful woman who is found beaten to death in an alley outide the ballroom where she came to death. The intimate secrets of her life are revealed when her murder is investigated.In "I'll Be Waiting," a hotel dectective's emotional involvement with a sexy guest has tragic consequences.In "The Quiet Room," the scheming of a scam artist and a corrupt police office results in a tragic end."The Frightening Frammis" is about a grifter who gets conned out of all his money."Murder, Obliquely" is about a woman who falls in love with a man suspected of murder.In "Since I Don't Have You," a weary private eye tracks a missing blonde for her two boyfriends: gangster Mickey Cohen and airplane magnate Howard Hughes.
