| Fam Jam (2005) Think the likes of sibling groups The Jackson 5… The Osmonds… The Carpenters… The BeeGees… The Everly Brothers… The Cowsills… The Hansons… The Moffats… even The Von Trapp Family Singers…or the husband-and-wife teams of Sonny & Cher… Captain & Tennille… and Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony…as well as the father-daughter combination of voices in the duets of Nat King Cole & Natalie Cole and Pat & Debbie Boone…and you’re thinking FAM JAM! Think of the Cruz singers of the 747 Band… Toto & His Children… The Royal Nailclippers… the husband and wife team-ups of Martin & Pops… Isay Alvarez & Robert Sena… father-and-son Bert and Martin Nievera… mother-and-daughter Pilita Corrales and Jackie Lou Blanco… Hajji Alejandro singing with daughter Rachel… Gary Valenciano performing with sons Paolo and Gabriel…and that’s still FAM JAM! It’s a contest open to all singing families, with a minimum of 3 members, and a maximum of 6, with certified proof of relationships up to third degree of consanguinity. 12 families are chosen, through auditions, for each season. The 12 families draw lots, to determine their order in the competition, which shall be divided into two rounds, at 6 families per round. FAM JAM! 6 families compete in each round. Each of the series of elimination will feature a different theme: OPM, English standards, Bid Band Swing, Jazz, Rock & Roll, etc. The bottom 2 families of each round go into a showdown. They choose a “soloist” among their members, to represent them. The winning soloist moves his/her family back into the competition. The competition surges ahead, in “sudden death” fashion, with the lowest scoring families, as adjudged by our esteemed panel of judges. The winner in Round A fights it out against the winner in Round B, in a Finale Showdown. Big prizes are at stake!
