Foot in the Door (1983)

The series, set in New York City, follows the misadventures of young marrieds Harriet and Jim Foot, and Jonah Foot, Jim's father, a recent widower who, after 40 years of marriage to a boring, straight-laced woman, decides to sell his home in Pitts Valley, New Hampshire, move in with his son, and begin to enjoy life.
