HBO World Boxing

HBO Sports presents the fiercest competitors and the toughest battles right into your television screen. Boxing's greatest warriors battle in the ring in HBO specials.

HBO World Boxing (1973)

In 1975, HBO scooped the world. HBO brought the Ali-Frazier "Thrilla in Manila" to stateside TVs-LIVE! Since that moment, HBO has been the home of The Big Fight. Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Holmes, Leonard, Hearns, Hagler-the list of champions who've fought on HBO reads like a Boxing Who's Who for the last three decades.

Without question, HBO attracts the most popular and exciting prizefighters in the world. It comes from being able to find real dynamite at all levels of boxing: From long-time champions at the top of their game, to up-and-coming fighters busting their tails to make their mark in the ring. HBO's Boxing After Dark, a showcase for hungry, young talent, has already built a hard-hitting reputation. The Atlanta Journal Constitution said "No series has produced more consistently entertaining fights."
