Three contestants compete. A story (e.g., "The Making of the Wizard of Oz") is read and illustrated with photographs. When it is completed, questions based on the story are asked. Behind each player is a vertical row of six spaces. When a player gives a correct response an animated Hit Man moves up one of those spaces; an incorrect response eliminates a player from the next question.The first two players to correctly answer six questions receive $300 and continue into round two; the third placeplayer is eliminated. In Round 2, the two players are pitted against the previous champion. The champion receives seven Hit Men; the first-place winner four Hit Men, and the second -place winner three Hit Men. Another story is read and the champion must defeat the challengers while the challengers try to defeat the champion.A series of questions based on the story are asked. If the champion answers correctly, one of the Challengers Hit Men is eliminated; if one of the challengers answers correctly, oneof the champions Hit Men is eliminated. The first to eliminate the others' Hit Men is the winner. |
