I'll Take Manhattan (1987)

This is a mini-series based on Judith Krantz's best-selling novel of the same name. Maxi Amberville, a three-time divorcee transforms herself into a dynamic businesswoman. She is determined to gain control of her family's wealthy business, an influential magazine company. The main reason behind her new-found sense of purpose is that she wants to prevent her father's empire from falling into the hands of her uncle, who plans to sell the company and destroy her father's name in the process. The situation becomes more complicated when the man out to destroy their legacy marries her widowed mother.
