• At the end of OVA episode two, there is a fake preview for a non-existent third episode.

• There is no opening credits/music for both episodes. Instead, they were put all in the end, similar to Western shows.

 Episodic

• Some of the gags from the first part of the first episode of the OVA were parodied/recreated in the second episode (ie. Mai being dragged away by the police for claiming to be Santa Claus & the big grunt scene were Sharry accidentally bumps into a mean-looking grunt leader).

 Reference

• On the front of Mai's sled in both the anime and manga is a small plate that reads "SW C3-D2". This is a reference to Star Wars (SW), and the famous droids C3-P0 and R2-D2.

• The Manga only tells the story of Christmas, when Santa meets Mai. The anime adds a second episode with a whole new story.

• In the anime, many more major characters are introduced. These characters include Sharry (also known as Shirley), MaiMai, and Noel. The manga only has the two original characters, Santa and Mai.
