 Scandinavia's Media Entertainment Group (MEG) has announced the latest co-production agreement with Belgian partners, Keynews Television (KNTV) and RTL TVI to produce a volume slate of Hidden Camera Gags. With MIPCOM fast approaching, the three parties have agreed to continue the successful production of a bulk deal of new hidden camera gags, totalling 100 x 26' episodes featuring 1,000 new gags, under the brand property name "Joking Around". With the first 150 gags having already been sold into over 60 countries in diverse territories such as to Globosat in Brazil, Kanal D in Canada, Mediaset in Italy, AB Group in France and STAR TV in China, the "Joking Around" series has a clear track record which bodes well for its future global success. "The new gags are already in production. We have a specialized team working on them from now and spanning the next 3 years. We draw our expertise from years of experience in hidden camera production, with past successes including "Just Kidding" and "Only Joking” already broadcasted in most of the world” says Boris Portnoy, CEO of KNTV. “Hidden camera shows are coming back into the market in a big way. We have seen a great interest in them since we started producing the new gags series. Broadcasters want 'clean' content targeted at the family audience, and that is what makes 'Joking Around' a valuable prime time - , and even an access prime time show," commented Peter Green, CEO of MEG. As the production is already moving forward, Media Entertainment Group will be presenting a taster of 150 new gags clips at stand R32:04 at MIPCOM 2007 in Cannes. |
