KINO “KINO” features the latest German film releases and international productions in Germany. In addition to traditional behind-the-scenes reports about the making of new films, DW-TV presents actors, directors, screenplay writers and producers. “KINO” takes a look at new film techniques, recent developments and discuss the future of the European film industry. Critics and foreign stars in German films get a chance to talk tell us their views. The show also reports on German and international film festivals abroad. “KINO” appears in German and English. Both editions are hosted by Ute Soldierer, a trained actress and presenter with experience in theatre, film and television. “KINO” is produced in the heart of Berlin at the Sony Centre on Potsdamer Platz. The German Film School, DFFB, the Film Museum, the Berlinale Film Festival headquarters are all located at the Sony Centre, as are more than two dozen movie houses.
