A hospital drama series about a 28-year-old second-year surgical resident at a New York hospital. Dr. Kay O'Brien, nicknamed Kayo, tries to excel in the male-dominated world of surgery. In the premiere episode, Kayo is humiliated by her colleague, Dr. Mark Doyle, for making an improper judgement during an operation. Kayo wins the approval of the surgery chief Dr. Josef Wallach, when she chooses not to retaliate. Meanwhile, Kayo's boyfriend, Sam, moves out of the apartment they share in SoHo, claiming that she is too occupied by her career. |
