• Adam Lamberg, who plays Lizzie's guy friend Gordo, is actually a little more than three years older than Hilary Duff, although their characters are the same age on the show.

• Ethan Craft was originally considered the middle school bully, but was later changed to a teen heartthrob.

• Sara Paxton was considered for the role of Lizzie before Hilary Duff auditioned. Paxton made a guest cameo in the episode "Lizzie for President".
