M.A.N.T.I.S. (1994)

Dr. Miles Hawkins, a paraplegic biophysicist, devises technology that allows him to become a superhero called Mantis for brief periods of time in order to assist him in his ongoing battle with criminals. Only two people know Mantis' identity, John Stonebrake, a fellow scientist and friend, and Taylor Savidge, a bike courier, who informs Hawkins of the goings-on in the city of Port Columbia. Together they keep the identity secret even from Lieutenant Leora Maxwell, a beautiful detective who works alongside Hawkins during her investigations.
