A mathematics genius who consults for the FBI and NSA. He is a mathematician whiz and teaches at “Cal Sci”—the fictitious California School of Science and Technology.

Don is an FBI Special Agent who runs the FBI Violent Crimes Squad in Los Angeles. Don recruits his mathematical genius brother, Charlie Eppes, to help him and the Bureau solve some of their most difficult cases.

Judd Hirsch as Alan Eppes
Alan Eppes is the father of Don and Charlie Eppes. Alan is a widower, having lost his wife to cancer a few years earlier. He's a retired city planner for the City of Los Angeles. He currently has a small consulting business and audits classes at CalSci.

Alimi Ballard as David Sinclair
Born in the Bronx, David is one of Don Eppes' team at the FBI. Sinclair enjoys Alan's cooking and he is infatuated with medical examiner Claudia Gomez. His field partner is Colby Granger.

Peter MacNicol as Larry Fleinhardt
Larry is the physics professor at CalSci University. He loves discussing philosophy with Charlie. He also consults with the FBI.

Sabrina Lloyd as Terry Lake
One of Don's field partner at the FBI, Terry is more keen to believe that math can solve their criminal cases than Don.

Navi Rawat as Amita Ramanujan
She provides assistance to Charlie who also serves as his thesis adviser. As the series progress, Amita became romantically involved with Charlie.

Dylan Bruno as Colby Granger
An eager FBI agent who joined Eppes' team in season 2. He plays golf in his spare time, did a tour of duty in Afghanistan, and also enjoys fishing.

Diane Farr as Megan Reeves
An psychological profile who works for the FBI, Megan Reeves serves as the head when Don Eppes is away. She speaks fluent French. As the series progress, we see Megan became more temperamental.

Aya Sumika as Liz Warner
A special agent at the FBI Organized Crime Division and the former love interest of Don Eppes. They met when Don was her tactical training instructor at Quantico.

Sophina Brown as Nikki Betancourt
A young FBI agent with four years experience in the LAPD and a law degree. She is impulsive, and in "Decoy Effect" is reprimanded by boss Don Eppes.
