Ocean Girl (1994)

Two boys and their marine biologist mother move to an underwater research colony near the Great Barrier Reef, where the brothers discover a mysterious young girl from the sea and the mother studies the brain patterns of a humpback whale named Charley. Neri, "Ocean Girl," teaches the boys to appreciate nature, and the trio combats industrialists and rival researchers out to hurt the environment.
