When actor Simon Ferguson is fired from his soap opera and deemed unemployable, he decides to visit his favorite ex-wife, Hadley, who owns a small hotel in Manhattan. Simon endears himself to everyone he meets at the hotel, including Hadley's two children, Gwen and Daniel, and Hadley invites him to stay on as the hotel's jack-of-all-trades.
