The show centers around Jared "Coop" Cooper and his friends: Russell "Rusty" Dougal, an eccentric Scottish transfer student, Kaleigh Stewart, Tara's uptight best friend, and Tara Bohun, the judge at teen court. The plot shows these students battling out cases, usually based on events at the start of the episode, with "Howie" Jackson normally involved. It is obvious that Howie is in love with Kaleigh, thoug she doesn't feel the same way and though she originally hated Coop, they become friends. When Teen Court is in session, Tara is the judge, Rusty is the court clerk and two out of Coop, Kaeligh and Howie are the lawyers. As the cases often involve all of them, they all have to stay fair in court despite their friendships and prejudices which usually leads to more problems. There is possible chemistry between Coop and Kaleigh, though in one episode she started dating a player, but didn't know he was two-timing her and Coop had to prove that he wasn't in love with Kaleigh (as he represented said player poorly, seemingly because he wanted Kaleigh to win), though in the end he admits to being her friend. |
