The long wait is finally over as ABS-CBN's latest reality show, Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) opens its doors to the public.

16 scholars has be trained together to become the “ultimate package” - excelling in not just singing but also in dancing and performing. Can these 16 industry newbies handle the pressure of competing with one another? Will they be able to prove themselves to their instructors, co-students, the judges and the public?

To help the scholars become the total performers that they ought to be, Pinoy Dream Academy has gathered only the most respected and credible instructors in the industry. There will also be language teachers, and acting coaches who will guide and supervise the scholars' development inside the academy. Serving as the Academy's headmaster and Artistic Director is music legend Jim Paredes, 1/3 of the group, Apo, respected songwriter, and artist.

According to Jim, who's now based in Australia, what made him accept this project is “I believe in the person who offered me this project (referring to PDA's Business Head Unit Lauren Dyogi, whom he worked with in Tatak Pilipino).” He adds, “I also believe in the show's vision and through this, as a senior artist, I would be able to impart good values to these scholars.”

Every Saturday night, the PDA scholars will have a concert in the PDA Concert Hall where they will be judged by some of the respected names from the entertainment industry. “The Jury of Three” will be the ones to choose the five students who will be up for expulsion. However, there's still hope for two students who will get to be saved either by the teachers or the students. While the fate of the remaining 3 students rests on the hands of the public.

Big prizes await the scholars who would be named as PDA's top 3 students.
