CHILDREN and animals make a purr-fect combination in Planet Q, a new infotainment show on nature and the environment. Planet Q dubbed as a haven for animal lovers, is hosted by five kids, who broke into TV by way of that singing contest, Pinoy Pop Star Kids. Led by champion Rita Iringan, the other hosts are Vanessa Rangadhol, Renzo Almario, Pocholo Bustamante, and Julie Ann San Jose. Together, these promising child performers, whose ages range from 11 to 13, are known as Sugarpop. On Planet Q, they project a different personality as beginner TV hosts. Using videos lifted from the popular US show, The Planet's Funniest Animals, Planet Q features pet care, bumper trivia, and amazing animal facts. The amateur hosts say they can easily identify with their new role. All of them love their pet dogs. Juxtaposed with foreign features are locally produced videos. Rita says her favorite features are those that teach her lessons on how to take care of rabbits and snakes. She says she'd love to go to Bohol to report on the Philippine tarsier, the smallest monkey in the world. |
