Planet of the Apes (1974)

Hurled 1100 years into the future, astronauts Alan Virdon and Pete Burke find themselves in a society where humans are subservient to super-intelligent apes. Their situation is made more bearable by Galen, a sympathetic chimp who comes to question whether humans are, indeed, a grossly inferior species.
