Police Squad! (1982)

A spoof of television police dramas as seen through the investigations of Frank Drebin, a police detective battling the criminal elements that befoul an unidentified American metropolis. The comedy stems from sight gags and send-ups of prior TV detective series as Drebin, a member of the crack Police Squad, a special detective unit, strives to solve crimes -- in utter defiance of the bizarre circumstances that seem to follow him like a shadow.
