Popstars (2000)

The first series of Popstars was one of this year's highest rating programs on the Seven Network, at its peak attracting an audience of over 2.5 million viewers. The pop group Bardot, created from the Popstars television program, has achieved a number 1 hit single, two additional gold singles and a Number 1 album in Australia. The group has just completed a national tour and is about to embark on a major tour of Asia. Series 2 follows a nationwide search to find the talent with the courage and determination to risk everything in their quest to become Popstars. The show will meet the boys and girls as they prepare for an audition that could change their life. It will share their excitement as they get selected, their nervousness as they leave home and their pride at their eventual selection to be a Popstar. By the end of the series audiences will have experienced the good moments and the bad, the nervous anxiety, hard work of the journey from obscurity to celebrity.
