Probe

The Probe Team cuts through the anatomy of the issues affecting the lives of Filipinos around the globe from politics and even entertainment.

Probe (2005)

Probe

The story that started 18 years ago is going back to its beginnings. In 1987 Probe began investigating social issues that plagued the country in the end, is witness to the life stories of Filipinos and the history of the Philippines. Probe, for its homecoming episode on ABS CBN, continues to document the life of the Filipino.

Probe will follow the lives of 3 people and capture their each and every move. And as they live a life of their own, their views about their situation, the country's condition, and the disorder around them will reveal how they are coping during these difficult times. Who are these three people? Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, Willie Revillame and high school teacher Perilita Villanueva. The segment will uncover their unseemingly, intersecting lives and show how their actions affect each other and every one of us.

An actual investigation also ensues as Probe examines the Masaganang Ginintuang Ani, a project that makes use of almost 2 billion pesos of government funds to support farmers in purchasing farm implements. These funds were received by legislators of urban areas and allegedly re-directed towards financing the elections.

When media is full of war, crime, scandals and crisis perhaps what is most newsworthy is good news. And for all the bad news that Probe has covered in the past 18 years, they discover that there are many stories of Filipinos that we should be proud of. And as history proves, our resiliency as a people here and even abroad can outshine tragedy and doubt. To end, Probe offers a look at the heartwarming, entertaining and memorable stories that reflect the true spirit of being Filipino.
