Five years ago, the frontliners of GMA News and Public Affairs revolutionized late-night television with incisive documentaries on I-Witness. This time, the network’s young news reporters are ready to rise from the sidelines and stand side-by-side with their internationally-recognized peers. They will take center stage in Reporter’s Notebook, the newest investigative show they themselves will anchor. In the fast-paced style of broadcast news, TV reporters are often unable to say it all in a minute and a half. Reporter’s Notebook will allow its reportorial team more time to look at all the angles of the usual TV news fare. Reporter’s Notebook features stories culled from the reporters’ own files, news that people didn’t see on the news programs. These reports are close to the hearts of the reporters because they write the stories themselves. Reports may even come from as far as Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates, or as local as covering the latest transport tragedy in Bicol. |
