Step by Step (1991)

Carol Foster, a widowed beautician, and Frank Lambert, a divorced contractor, work to merge their families after they impetuously marry on a vacation in Jamaica. They each have three children with widely diverse personalities. Dana, Karen and Mark are orderly and intelligent like their mother, while JT, Al (short for Alicia) and Brendan are freewheeling like their father. Carol's mom, Ivy, and her sister, Penny, work with her in the family beauty shop, adjoining the house. Frank's quirky nephew, Cody, arrives on the scene and takes up residence in a nearby van.
