| | The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (2005) The Suite Life of Zack & Cody is an Emmy Award nominated American children's television series that airs on the Disney Channel. This Disney Channel Original Series premiered on March 18, 2005, and was one of the first five shows available on the iTunes Store. In the October 2007 issue of Disney Adventures magazine, Disney announced that the filming of the show has been completed and that all of the sets have been torn down. The series stars Dylan and Cole Sprouse. They play Cody and Zack Martin, identical twins, whose single mother, Carey, is the headlining singer at the Tipton Hotel. Now they live in a five-star hotel in Boston as a provision of her contract. The series has spawned two video games: one for the Nintendo DS entitled "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody: Tipton Trouble" and a titular release for the Game Boy Advance. The show was originally called The Suite Life, which is co-created by Danny Kallis, who was a writer, producer, and director for the TV series, Smart Guy; and Jim Geoghan, who was a writer and producer for the TV series, Family Matters. The series is the third Disney Channel Original to have more than 65 episodes, the first being That's So Raven and the second being Kim Possible. The show also airs on Saturday mornings on ABC. Production The Suite Life of Zack and Cody was created by Danny Kallis and Jim Geoghan. Production of the first season, which contained 26 episodes, began in fall 2004. The series premiered on March 18, 2005 and held the record of the highest-rated Disney Channel premiere (but was later beaten out by Hannah Montana in 2006 and Cory in the House in 2007). The series was so popular that Disney Channel ordered 39 episodes for a second season, which brought the total to 65, the usual limit of episodes Disney normally allows their series to go. During the second season, The Suite Life took part in a tri-episode crossover with fellow Disney Channel Original Series Hannah Montana and That's So Raven. The crossover, entitled That's So Suite Life of Hannah Montana, aired on July 28, 2006. The show is currently broadcasting its third, and final, season, which began on June 23, 2007. All of the episodes that have aired belong to one story arc taking place during summer vacation. Brenda Song's character London Tipton has missed a couple of episodes because Brenda was filming Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior in New Zealand. And Ashley Tisdale's character Madeline Fitzpatrick only appears in five of the eleven season three episodes that have already aired, makes a cameo appearance in two episodes, and does not appear at all in six episodes. This is due to her commitment to filming High School Musical 2. Suite Life of Zack & Cody was filmed in front of a live studio audience at Hollywood Center Studios. Shooting finished in August 2007, and the set was pulled down.
