TRIVIA: Cast and Crew

Fabian Basabe was kicked-off as one of the contestants and replaced him with Hollywood IT Boy Nick Movs. According to some publications, The WB didn't want Fabian because he's too FEM.

Survival of the Richest (2006)

The first-look alliance between publicly-listed RDF Media and Scottish indie IWC Media, forged last October, has landed its first US commission, for a new show called Survival of the Richest.

The WB Network has ordered the $4.5m six-hour series, which will be IWC's first stateside work. The show, which aims to teach rich kids respect for money through manual labour and charity work, will air in primetime this fall. The format, devised by IWC, was jointly pitched under the IWC/RDF partnership, and will go out internationally via RDF Rights.

The series has started production at RDF's Los Angeles outpost, where the US version of Channel 4's Rock School has also begun production for VH1, and where Faking It is also made for TLC. Richest is being exec produced by IWC's Zad Rogers and RDF USA's Joe Houlihan.

The Survival of the Richest deal comes as RDF winds down its US development effort, banking on its UK formats and third-party UK partners to expand its US production business. Survival of the Richest is the first of many joint pitches that RDF and one-time takeover prospect IWC are taking into the US, others including property formats like Relocation Relocation.
