The Amazing Race (2001)

Reality series in which eleven teams of two people perform various tasks on a trip around the world in 30-40 days. At every destination, the couples compete in a series of challenges -- some mental, some physical -- and only when the tasks have been completed do they learn their next destination. Couples who are the farthest behind are gradually eliminated, with the first team to reach the final destination receiving $1 million.The eleven couples are: fraternity brothers, Andrew and Kevin; working moms/friends, Brenda and Patricia; best friends/lawyers, Brennan and Rob; grandparents/married 40 years, David and Margaretta; separated parents, Frank and Margarita; life partners, Joseph and Bill; single teachers/best friends, Kimberly and Leslie; dating, Leonard and Karyn; married couple, Matthew and Ana; mother/daughter, Nancy and Emily; and engaged couple, Paul and Amie.
