A nouveau riche family of hillbillies move to Beverly Hills and refuse to conform and shake up privileged society there.

 

The Beverly Hillbillies (1962)

One of CBS' most popular sitcoms of the 1960s, "The Beverly Hillbillies" followed the Clampett family from the Ozarks to posh Beverly Hills after they struck oil and became millionaires. Banker Mr. Drysdale tried to keep them from spending their newfound wealth and also tried to "civilize" them, usually only succeeding in making a fool of himself.
