The Contender Asia is the first international reality TV show to be shot completely in Singapore. The show was filmed 'live' in front of an exclusive audience including celebrities like Jason Scott Lee and Daniel Henney in late 2007. Now, all will be unveiled first on AXN to the public. Created by the godfather of reality TV Mark Burnett, of Survivor fame, The Contender Asia will knock your socks off with its exciting action and real drama. 16 of the finest aspiring Muay Thai movers and shakers from all over the world, all already champions in their own respective countries, will prove their prowess as they fight it out for a total prize pool of US $250,000, and to be The Contender Asia Champion. To get there, the troop of Muay Thai fighters will be pitted against one another in a series of challenges that determine who gets to go into the ring each week. They face elimination if they lose a fight, and the last one standing will be the ultimate champion. Expect to get up close and personal with these Muay Thai fighters as they reveal their unique personal lives and aspirations of being the 'Asian Contender', over 15 episodes that follow them from the training camp to outdoor challenges to real sanctioned matches soaked in sweat, blood and adrenalin! The crew of fighters are 16 Muay Thai heavyweights with dazzling fight records from all around the world. Including a current World Muay Thai Junior Middleweight Champion from Thailand, a former IFMA Australia and Oceania middleweight Champion from Australia, a Swiss Muay Thai Champion, and more champs from Singapore, Australia, USA, Scotland, France, Sweden, Russia and United Arab Emirates.
