He's happily married to former dancer Laura (played by Mary Tyler Moore), and they have a young son (Larry Matthews). The plots generally revolve around problems at work -- where Rob got into various comedic jams with fellow writers Buddy (Morey Amsterdam), Sally (Rose Marie) and producer Mel (Richard Deacon) or at home. Jerry Paris (who went on to a successful TV directing career) and Ann Morgan Guilbert costarred.
