Seeking a government job teaching underprivileged children in the Congo, Katy Holstrom, a beautiful Minnesota farm girl, approaches Congressman Glen Morley and requests his help and endorsement. Glen offers to assist her, but an unexpected delay due to red tape and application approval presents a dilemma for Katy: Where to stay until she gets the job?Realizing that Katy is in a bind, Glen offers to let her reside with his family. She quickly wins over the affections of Glen's motherless children, Steve and Danny. Impressed with her beauty, and her ability to handle his sons, Glen offers her the position of governess, which she accepts.Set in Washington, D.C., stories depict the home and working life of a Congressman, and the attempts of a country girl to adjust to both political and city life.
