The First Churchills (1969)

The story of John Churchill, a handsome mercenary who marries Sarah, the daughter of the Duke of York. The drama involves the elaborate politics of seventeenth-century England, and describes Churchill's momentous victory at the battle of Blenheim in 1704, his elevation to the nobility as the first Duke of Marlborough, the costly construction of his magnificent palace, and his final humiliating fall from favor.
