The Proud Family (2001)

An animated series about Penny Proud, a 14-year-old African-American girl who's doing her best to navigate through the mysteries, mishaps and merriment that come with those difficult years of teen-dom. Penny's best friends include: sassy and scheming Dijonay; the naively optimistic Zoey; and Sticky, a techno-wiz with attitude. Penny's family includes: irreverent, groovy grandma Sugar Mama and her funky poodle, Puff; Penny's trouble-making toddler siblings Bebe and Cece; and, of course, her parents, Oscar and Trudy, who don't seem to understand that Penny is ready to grow up.
