She was struck by a car as she was trying to pull Scott's sister out of the street. So the song "Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child" has always been very personal to Scott, even now at 77. Scott has been singing jazz for more than 60 of those years with a rather unique voice - a male soprano, not a falsetto. Scott's voice is the product of a childhood medical condition called Kallman's Syndrome, which creates a hormone deficiency that impedes growth. ABC News speaks with Jimmy Scott about his rich, but often troubled life. Correspondent: Dave Marash. |
