A depiction of life in a fashionable London townhouse as seen through the interactions of two families from different levels of society: the Bellamys who live upstairs, and their servants, who form a family of their own downstairs. This celebrated British series was presented on American television over four consecutive seasons by "Masterpiece Theatre."
