 In the last Great War, Japan was spared a crushing defeat when the secret all-girls unit known as the "Virgin Fleet" suddenly appeared off Yokohama Bay. Caught off-guard by this new Japanese weapon, the Federation fleet retreated and a cease-fire was signed. That was 15 years ago. In Nakano Naval Girls' Academy, a new generation of young girls is being trained for the Virgin Fleet. Gifted with special "virgin energy", these cadets are taught how to harness their powers for use in combat. Cadet and rookie pilot Shiokaze UMINO isn't sure she's up to the task, even though she's determined to complete school before marrying her fiancé, Mau. However, life at the academy proves to be pretty rough, and the guys in the military aren't too supportive either. But with the threat of war looming, Shiokaze and her fellow cadets must learn fast if they are to save Japan from another invasion. |
