| | WWE Vintage Collection (2008) The show came into existence after the cancellation of the long running WWE Heat In it's last few years, Heat was still broadcast on television internationally despite it being a WWE.com exclusive domestically. In Spring 2008, WWE made the decision to move its Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) taping to Monday nights and have them taped prior to that evenings edition of the company's flagship show, Raw, a slot previously taken by the Heat tapings. This in turn prompted WWE to officially end Heat after a decade-long run. However, this move left a gap in WWE's international TV distribution deals so the decision was taken to create a highlight show of archive matches. When word first broke of this, various websites were refering to the new show as 'WWE Classics' but not long after, WWE announced the show's title as WWE Vintage Collection.
